How to Delete a User from Google Ad Manager

Google Ad Manager is a robust tool for publishers that helps with ad serving, website monetization, and yield optimization. The basic version is free and comes as complementary with Google AdSense services. The premium version contains more functionality and insights that further supports the yield optimization capabilities. In this article, we are going to discuss how you can delete a user or revoke access from someone who has been previously assigned a role in Google Ad Manager. The steps below are pretty straightforward, so let’s get started.

Step 1: Once you are logged into Ad Manager, click on the ‘Admin’ tab.

Step 2: Now from the subsection, click on’Access and Authorization’ tab.

Step 3: Now you can see the list of ‘users’ who have access to your Ad Manager account, their email address, status, and level of permission. Go ahead and click on the name of the user whom you want to delete or revoke access.

Step 4: On the top right, you’ll see the status of the user as ‘active’. Click on that.

Step 5: From the drop-down list, click on the ‘inactive’ button to revoke the permission from the user and you are all done.

The user will now no longer be able to access your Ad Manager account. This is equivalent to ‘deleting’ a user but with a twist.

Your Google Ad Manager account might often require temporary access to salesperson, advertiser, freelancers for a certain period of time. Following which, you can revoke the access, and if needed further, you can follow the same steps to give access to the person just by activating the inactive account.

This is the reason there is no option of permanent deletion of user accounts in Google Ad Manager.  If you wish to learn more about website revenue optimization, signup for the micro-courses by subscribing to our network’s weekly newsletter: Pub Digest
